How to Install Newsletter Module in PrestaShop 1.6?

While handling shop visitors and clients, sometimes your marketing campaigns need to send newsletters in bulk. PrestaShop is equipped with a module that allows you to gather the subscribers and export their data in a csv file. Further, you can use this data for sending sent newsletters to the subscribed customers. Given below are some easy steps to export the customer’s data to a csv file and then sending them newsletter in PrestaShop 1.6.



PrestaShop by default only helps to collect the customers data i.e. email addresses. If you want to send them newsletters in bulk, it needs external module e.g. FME’s Newsletter PrestaShop 1.6 Module.


Installation of PrestaShop Newsletter Module in version 1.6

You need to follow the following steps for installation newsletter module;

Step 1: Login to your PrestaShop 1.6 backend.


Step 2: Go to the module section and hover over it. Click on modules.


Step 3: Go to the search bar for modules and type newsletter and click on the search icon.


Step 4: As a result, module page will show the newsletter module. Go to the “CSV Export for Newsletters” and click on install.


Step 5: When the module get installed, you will see three options there.


  • Customer’s Country: Sort the subscribers’ county wise.
  • Newsletter Subscribers: Sort the customers whether they have decided to receive newsletter or not.
  • Opted-in subscribers: Sort the customers whether they have decided to receive special offers or not.

Step 6: When you have selected these options, click on the export to CSV file. System prompts to save the csv file and you will get the list of newsletter subscribers.


Sending Newsletter to Subscribers

After getting the subscribers file, put the information into an external newsletter module. Make sure to use module from trusted PrestaShop developers. This type of module can help you in exporting and managing the subscribers’ data. You can send customized newsletters to all your subscribers at once, thus eliminating the need to send newsletters one by one to each subscriber.
